A cooler overcast day, quieter after the bank holiday. Mysterious ladder encountered in Suffolk Square. Finished in time.

Today: I now see these amazing bushes all over the walk, this large one in Ampthill Street looked particularly sublime in the early morning sun: Foliage patterns: Shadows in Eagle Walk.
We got out on delivery early, finishing in time to catch a much desired cooling ice cream at the Van on Mousehold heath, as we headed back to the delivery office. The Ice cream seller commented “here for your once a year ice cream”. Slightly unnerving since we had indeed only stopped for ice cream once the previous year. I think this was because it became too hot and the van often wasn’t there. Hard to imagine it being too hot in the UK for an ice cream van but it was !!

Today: Gloriously sunny day, all looks splendid. Just slightly cooler than it looks with a stiff cooling breeze.
Happy to get all delivered, picked up pizza on the way home. Out to hear the BBC singers in the evening – fantastic concert.

Working with Elliot, Kelly having a day off. Rested after my day off, I seem to be noticing all the spikey flowers and excited by seeing the Holly bush flowering.

Today: Spotting Onion flowers throughout the walk, also these intense small blue flowers, which have self seeded everywhere.
Not too much mail today, but still a double delivery of mail on 206, since it didn’t go out on Saturday and a struggle to get done in time. Starting to feel more familiar with the new frame and delivery area.
Still not clear how we are ever going to be able to complete the whole delivery.
Chillier than imagined, there was a brisk and fresh wind and not as many sunny intervals as perhaps we would like.
Struggling to stay positive.

Today: Noticing lots of tiny whitish blossoming plants.
Another large day, tensions high in the office. Sorting from my new larger frame. Glad to get out of the office and crack on with the walking and delivering.

Today: Occasionally sunny and generally warmer. A fairly indistinct day, but great to be outdoors delivering. All returning to nearer normal without the bank holiday backlogs and our growing knowledge of the new areas we deliver to.
Just learned that we will be able to set the house number for our walk for our frames which is one worry less to carry.

An extremely long and difficult day delivering. Bank holidays always lead to abnormally busy days. Further aggravated by a terrific thunderstorm, which rumbled and flashed and created flash flooding around the walk. Van became steamy, letters and clothes damp and the pda’s temperamental.
Finally icing on the cake was slipping on some slippy flagstones and grazing my knee.

Today: Puddle reflection, Walpole gardens: Foliage, Harford Manor Road: New leaf growth at the base of a horse chestnut tree, Church Avenue.
Three days worth of walk 206 to deliver, a big walking day. All suddenly looks green, things starting to be hidden and obscured by the foliage. Enjoy the irrepressibility of nature which is shooting green at every opportunity. Feels like you ought to be able to see the growth happening with your naked eye, if you had the patience.
A damp but warm hug of a day, all is moist.
