Today: Church Avenue: Leaf and Leaves, Ipswich Rd: “bejewelled” leaf, Ipswich Grove

After a misty start a real gem of a day emerged. Plenty of mail, a water company letter to all addresses in Ipswich Road, a sturdy Gresham annual going to a surprisingly large number of houses, and predictable plenty of Christmas catalogues.

The earlier mist seemed to have left brown and orange dew drops on fallen leaves, and the morning glistened and smoked as the sun emerged. Golden.

Enjoying all the moss and lush greens today. After the bone dry summer the damp greenery feels comfortingly familiar. A warm, damp and overcast day – fairly perfect delivering weather.

Enjoyed an early morning electric van training. An hour spent driving through Norwich practicing using the engine to recharge the battery. Now can’t wait for the new vans to arrive (expected in March). Particularly excited by the automatic handbrake.

A perfect delivering day, not too hot, dry and nothing too busy/heavy/difficult. Lots of letters, particularly estate agents touting for business !

An unremarkable day weather wise, which made polite chat way more challenging. Post full of Christmas catalogues.

Loved noticing new box hedge being planted around the walk, after summers caterpillar decimation. Here in Newmarket Rd the new plants seem to dance.

Over the weekend the seasons turned a corner. Autumn leaves are mulching away and a bleaker wintery feeling is emerging. An absence of recent strike action means the delivery was a normal lighter Monday. Talk in the office of a possible resolution nearing. Fingers crossed.
