Out on Delivery: Sat 6 May

Today: Lift reflection, Suffolk Sq: White bells, Oxford Street: Glass door panel, Walpole gardens. Delivery Montage featuring the van interior, a corridor in The Cedars and evidence of our dunkin donut treats.

We delivered under the threat of thundery rain, which held off. Mostly delivering to our new, additional roads and then running the tracks and packets around the other two walks.

Coronation day, streets are quiet and I spot people sitting in their living rooms watching the ceremony as we deliver. Some bunting on display. Feel a little salty at having to work, but cheered by Jim at The Cedars who points out that having to work is a perfect excuse not to have to watch the Coronation for hours on TV.

Out on Delivery: Wed 3 May

Today: Sunlit trees, Benjamin Gooch Way: An alarming find, drive on Mount Pleasant: Orange Tulip, Lime tree road: Delivery Montage

A tangle of a morning trying to sort out how best to deliver to the new area with Kelly. Driving round in circles. A pacy second half delivering tracked items and 13 special deliveries. A final big loop on lower Newmarket Rd. Starting to get used to the new.

Springy spring !!

Out on Delivery: Mon 24 Apr

Today: Deep pink blossom, Ipswich Rd: Bluebells: Blossom tree, The cedars: Delivery Montage featuring a Lime tree road snail.

A return to walk after a weeks holiday. I notice how the darker blossom trees are now out alongside the bluebells and a rainbow of tulips.

A welcome distraction from the nightmare morning’s sorting mail into an already full frame. The new larger walk schedule having been introduced whilst I was away. We struggle to even clear even one walk between us, working in the knowledge that tomorrow one frames will have double mail, the other triple mail for us together.

Out on Delivery: Sat 15 Apr

Today: A damp start, spotted this beautiful snail making the most of the conditions. The sun came out later and put a spring in my step, spring is very firmly here now.

My last day before a weeks holiday, cleared the delivery frame before the chaos of all the changes coming in next week. Not sure how we will achieve the newer, larger walks but trying, and largely managing, to not worry.

Out on Delivery: Thu 13 Apr

Today: A slightly overcast start, which lifted into skin warming Sun mid morning. Gradually the trees are turning green, new leaves unfurling and trees filled with pink blossom.

An achievable day with much talk about the upcoming amendments/additions to the walks and the pay offers from Royal Mail. The best possible weather to be doing our job in. Happy Postie.

Out on Delivery: Sat 8 Apr

Today: A mountain of parcels and mail to deliver. Salty that the skip at no 9 Newmarket Road has returned, thought my days of squeezing in to deliver the mail were over. Happy to meet the brass frog in xx Christchurch Rd again.

Worked with Tara, a favourite colleague, this was her last day at Royal Mail. Enjoyed her company, good mood since Easter break coming up.

Out on Delivery: Wed 5 Apr

Today: Another sunny spring day, pink and red are the colours that catch my eyes. The magnificent magnolia at xx Mount Pleasant is again in full bloom.

Delivering flowers and parcels galore, a struggle to find things in van, since so Easter busy. Yet again, not enough time to complete the walk, so mail returned to delivery office.
