The summer solstice, the sun shone full on as if in celebration. Posties arriving back after delivery all exclaimed “hotter than I was expecting”. A double tray Tuesday with endless Go outdoor and loaf sofa catalogues to deliver. A much needed stop at a corner shop for refreshing cold cans of drink. Happy to be finished.

Walk 206: Tuesday 7th May

Today: A rose surrounded doorway in Allens’s Lane which smelt heavenly and bee hummed gently: A breeze rustling lawn in Church Avenue and a mottled shadow: Splendid tree shadows: Surreal bubbles in Mount Pleasant: Bunting shadows from Laurel Lodge railings.

A heavy day’s delivering with seventeen special deliveries across the walk and a need to finish on time. Further aggravations with more of Ipswich being closed to traffic and forgotten drinks and snack. All mitigated by the glorious weather, clear strong sunlight with dark shadows. Heady flowery scent greeted me at many calls. We pushed hard and made it in time for the appointment.
