Yesterday’s deluge continued, colder and windier today. Towards the end of the delivery the clouds lifted and the sun broke through. Flowers and blossoms sprung openand I was noticing colour all around. My eye was drawn to newly unfurling bushes.
Feeling like we deserve a drier delivery day tomorrow but the forecast predicts more rain !
The sun finally came out and all looked beautiful. Blossom filled trees glowed with light against the blue sky. The warming sunlight was bright and low, transformed the delivery from a chore into a pleasure.
Today: camillia, ipswich rd: plum blossom out, mount pleasant: peak crocus, church avenue.
Blossom and blooms abound. I spot my first pink cherry blossom tree and rhododendron bush in bloom. Bold pink Camillia bushes amaze and daffodils delight with their shocks of yellow. Magnolia trees are budding up but no hints of blooms yet. All feels very early this year and I can’t escape the feeling that more wintry weather could be waiting in the near future.
An overcast delivery day with enough space inside to be noticing. Only disappoints with unforecast rain.
Today: Crocuses: Japonica blossom, Mount Pleasant: Puddle reflection, Wessex Street: My heart has a particular soft spot for plants that thrive in difficult locations, here a splendid crocus at the edge of the pavement, Plantsman Road.
Finally, after all the last two week’s excitement all feels more settled and I have capacity to notice the world around me. We have been going through a resigning, a reallocation of who does which delivery. Sadly, I will no longer be doing Walk 206 with Kelly but will be the new postie for Walk 202 working with Craig.
Looking forward to getting to know new customers and their gardens and building a new set of relationships with the new places in walk 202 and my new partner Craig.
