Out on Delivery: Mon 14 Nov

Today: Church Avenue: Leaf and Leaves, Ipswich Rd: “bejewelled” leaf, Ipswich Grove

After a misty start a real gem of a day emerged. Plenty of mail, a water company letter to all addresses in Ipswich Road, a sturdy Gresham annual going to a surprisingly large number of houses, and predictable plenty of Christmas catalogues.

The earlier mist seemed to have left brown and orange dew drops on fallen leaves, and the morning glistened and smoked as the sun emerged. Golden.

Today: Puddles…Roseacre, Newmarket Road and Church Avenue: Foggy Windscreen leaf.

Flooding and puddles defined the day. Excited by the news that we are getting Electric vans soon. Lots of mail and wet. Pleased to be finished.

Today: Fabulous colours Benjamin Gooch Way: Foliage and shadow, 7 Paxton Place: Shade of green fig, Church Avenue East: Leaf, Ipswich Grove: Leaf, Grove Avenue.

A return from another strike day. Again it felt like a Monday. The most beautiful balmy morning that took a nasty, unexpectedly wet turn in the middle. Caught out without a rain coat. Apprehensive as to what tomorrow will bring…

Today: Damp leaves everywhere catching my eyes

Too much mail for our allocated work time, a fraught tense day and a feeling of not being able to deliver one’s best. A disappointing discovery that tomorrow we strike again. Silver linings of half term empty roads and being gifted a liquorice all sort jar by one of my customers(it was on it’s way to the charity shop) that my Dad will love.

Out in Delivery: Sat 15 Oct

Today: Oak leaves, Ipswich Rd: Shadowy sunlight, Lime tree rd: Lethal Rose spines, End House: Autumn leaf: Windscreen leaf and self reflection.

The tsunami of strike postponed mail hit today. Redundancies have been announced. Tense atmosphere in the sorting office and a need to prioritise what we deliver to get done. Not a good feeling. At odds with the calm beauty of the day.

Walk 206: Thursday 9th June

Today: Patterned leaf: Colourful bush: An vertical leaf in Church Avenue, it had fallen tip first and was improbably wedged standing upright.

A slight easing of the post bank holiday parcel deluge, still busy. Glorious sunny, my eyes are caught by leaf formations today.
